About the practice
A space held with care
Mansour Ghanem is a licensed professional counselor in Oregon who sees adults who describe themselves as spiritual but not religious. He works with silence, breath and attention to the body alongside conversation, and does not bring a doctrine into the room.
He is a therapist, not a spiritual director, and does not offer religious guidance. The training behind each method he uses is named below, so you can see who taught him what.
Licensed professional counselor, Oregon
Somatic Experiencing, trained through Somatic Experiencing International
EMDR, trained through an EMDRIA-approved program
Parts work, trained through the IFS Institute
Mindful Self-Compassion, trained through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion

Does this sound familiar?
You don't have to carry this alone. These are some of the quiet questions that bring people to therapy.
You want meaning without a doctrine
Belief has loosened, but the questions have not. You'd like room to ask them in your own words.
Anxiety runs the show
Racing thoughts, a tight chest, the constant hum of worry that never quite lets you rest.
Old patterns keep surfacing
Habits from childhood that play out in your relationships, your work, your sense of self.
Grief has no timeline
A loss that others have moved past, but you carry with you every day, sometimes invisibly.

Philosophy
Our Approach
Therapy here is not about fixing what is broken, and no particular result can be promised. It is about making room for what is already whole, at a pace you can trust.

Presence over prescription
We don't offer quick fixes or a doctrine to fit. We offer a steady, attuned presence that lets your own wisdom surface.

Body and mind together
Attention to breath, posture and sensation sits beside the conversation in sessions, at a pace you can follow.

Relational depth
The relationship in the room is where much of the work happens. Mansour shows up fully, so you can too.
Words from clients
What clients say about the room, the pace and being listened to.
“There was no rush and no script. I could say half a thought and it was still welcome.”
Carson T.“I came without a belief system to defend. Nobody asked me to pick one.”
Meena S.“The silences were never awkward. Mansour let them be, and so I could, too.”
Aram H.“I felt listened to from the first hour. The room is quiet and so is the pace.”
Gracie L.“I liked that the fee and the plan were set out in writing before I started.”
Leonel P.“It felt like thinking out loud with someone who was paying attention.”

FAQ
Questions We Often Hear
Plain answers to what many people ask before they begin.
What should I expect in my first session?
A first conversation. Mansour explains how your records are kept and the few times the law requires him to share them, asks what you want from the time and answers your questions. You don't have to say more than you're ready to.
Do you take insurance?
No. Stillness Therapy is out of network with every plan, so we don't bill insurance. If you want to claim reimbursement, you can ask for a monthly receipt (a superbill) to send to your plan. Whether it pays is your plan's decision. Fees are explained on the How fees work page.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what care will cost before you start. We send one in writing before your first session. It is an estimate and not a contract, and you can dispute a bill that comes in $400 or more above it.
Do you offer video sessions?
Yes, for clients who are in Oregon at the time of the session, where Mansour is licensed. We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows.
