FAQ

Questions We Often Hear

Plain answers to what many people ask before they begin.

Do you take my insurance?

No. Stillness Therapy is out of network with every plan, so we don't bill insurance. That includes Medicare and Medicaid, which do not pay for sessions here. Some plans reimburse part of the cost of out-of-network care; your plan decides how much, if anything.

What is a superbill and how do I use it?

A superbill is an itemized monthly receipt you can send to your plan if you want to claim reimbursement. It lists a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. Whether your plan pays is its decision, and we can't promise that it will.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what care will cost before you start. We send one in writing before your first session. It is an estimate and not a contract, and you can dispute a bill that comes in $400 or more above it.

How much does it cost and how do fees work?

Your fee is given in writing before your first session and stays the same unless we tell you ahead of time. The How fees work page explains each part, from receipts to cancellations.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Health savings and flexible spending cards are accepted for sessions.

What happens in the first session?

A first conversation. Mansour explains how your records are kept and the few times the law requires him to share them, asks what you want from the time and answers your questions. You don't have to say more than you're ready to.

How often and how long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start weekly, and your clinician sets the pace with you. We don't promise a number of sessions.

Are you licensed where I live?

Mansour is licensed in Oregon. Video sessions are for clients who are in Oregon at the time of the session. If you live elsewhere, we are glad to help you look for a clinician licensed where you live.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. This office does not monitor calls or messages around the clock. The Crisis and resources page lists more.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows. The law requires a clinician to act if someone is at serious risk of harm, or in cases of abuse of a child or an older adult. Mansour explains this in the first session.

Can you see my teen?

Stillness Therapy works with adults. If you are looking for care for a teen, we are glad to help you find a clinician who does.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. A later cancellation may be charged, up to the fee for that session.
